Get involved

There is more than one way to take part

NISD's work depends on the people and institutions who join it. Here is how you can.

Volunteer

NISD's field activities — tree planting, clean-up campaigns, school support and visits to older people — are carried out largely by volunteers from the communities involved. If you would like to take part, tell us where you are and what you can offer.

Ask about volunteering

Partner with us

NISD works with local authorities, schools, health centres, universities and development organisations. If your institution is working on something that overlaps with our programmes, we would like to talk.

Discuss a partnership

Bring a programme to your community

If your community needs support with environmental restoration, school meals, water and sanitation, health outreach or road safety, write to us and describe the situation.

Request support

Request our records

Researchers, journalists and institutional partners can request NISD's activity reports and documentation. Many are already published in the publications library.

Before you write

It helps to tell us a few things

A short, specific message gets a better answer than a general one.

  • Where you are — the community, division or country.
  • What you are hoping for, as concretely as you can put it.
  • Who you are writing on behalf of, if it is an organisation.
  • Any deadline you are working to.
  • How best to reach you, and when.
  • Whether you have worked with NISD before.
